Ainsley loves to Dance

March 6, 2008

Marty had Sesame Street on the other day and they sang a song to the tune of “My boyfriends back” and Ainsley began to dance.  We’ve discovered that if we sing the song she will really start to boogy!  So here’s a clip….ignore my singing voice!

SERIOUSLY!?!?!

March 6, 2008

That is what we keep saying to ourselves.  Here is a list of things that have happened at our house in January and February.  We discovered we had a water pipe under the house leaking.  We noticed because our sump pump was going off when it was zero degrees out and we noticed ground heave…enough to cause our deck to tilt!  So, to repair that they have to jack hammer through the floor in the office.  Therefore…new carpet coming downstairs.  Then we head off for a nice break to San Francisco over President’s Day weekend.  We come home to water in the hallway downstairs.  We think its the humidifier on the furnance so we call the heating guy.  He takes one look at the furnance (which is now making an obscene rattling sound) and says “You need to replace that” BUT the water is coming from the hot water tank.  So, we get that repaired and begin to get estimates on replacing the furnance.  Well, forget that because last Friday morning it died.  It emitted an even more awful sound then there was the smell of something burning.  So, we get that replaced.  Seriously.  Oh, thats right, the other day Bailey is chewing on a rawhide bone and I later notice Ainsley has something in her mouth….Bailey’s tooth!  A lowere premolar that broke out of his mouth!  I spent 1 1/2 hours drilling the remaining roots out.   This house is starting to feel like a brand new house.

Well the holidays have come and gone.  It was a busy but good time as I’m sure it is for everyone.  We started by having my family here for Thanksgiving.  It was a great time.  10 people slept in this house, comfortable I think!  Marty spent a week in London mid-December for work.  It was good but very busy.  We celebrated Christmas in Florida with his family.  The weather was great!  Sunny and 80 every day.  Ainsley enjoyed going down the pool and absolutely loved being out on the boat.

A big change to our household when we got back.  We adopted a 21 month old black lab named Oliver.  I found the breeder through a client of mine.  We weren’t really thinking about a new dog yet but have noticed that Bailey has been acting a little different since Mac has been gone.  Long, long story short we brought him home the saturday after Christmas.  Yes, he is not chocolate..but he is just what we were looking for.  The breeder decided not to show him and had just decided to find him a home. A moment to brag – his grandfather won Westminster and was Best Lab in the country for 2 years.  It is absolutely amazing how he made himself part of this family.  Bailey is even playing with him.  Right now he is curled up at Marty’s feet.  We feel really lucky to have him.
